Synopsis
The goal of this course is to impart knowledge, understanding
and an appreciation of the field of fluid mechanics. This course
includes the study of the basic properties of fluids which
encompasses both gases and liquids, the basic concepts of
system, control volume and flow
field, the basic principles of conservation of mass, energy and
momentum, the fundamental equations that govern the behavior
of fluids, the application of the principles and equations to the
understanding of the operations of various types of flow
measuring equipment and the study and analysis of the forces
that act on bodies moving through a fluid and vice versa.
Assessment
