and pollution control.
Synopsis
This course exposes the students to boiler design and
construction details, furnace and mountings of boiler operation,
rules and regulations and maintenance. Among other topics the
design, work mechanism, construction and efficiency and
maintenance of steam and gas turbines are highlighted.
Knowledge on steam cycles, the cycle efficiency calculations and
improvement of cycle efficiency being emphasized. Study of fuel
and fuel technology, diesel engine, combustion chemistry,
environmental pollution control, centrifugal machines, mixed
flow machines and axial flow machines are being incorporated.
